profile (As of October, 2004)

I was born in 1979, in Ghent (Belgium).
After finishing my degree in interior Design at St-Lucas institute in Brussels, I started my studies of Product design in Genk, where I’m currently doing my first master degree. Beside playing music (gitar and cello), most of my hobby’s and interests all revolve around product design. This includes computer drawing, painting and 3D animation. For the future, I hope to finish my master degree with and interesting subject and find a nice job as a product designer.

concept

My idea for this concept came from the feeling of sensuality and excitement of a first kiss. For the sunglasses I choose the color ‘red’ because it enforces this idea. Without being obvious the form of the glasses is reminiscent of the subtle contour of lips.

 

materials

The sunglasses are made up of three main components. A metal frame, a transparent red plastic and two or more elastic binders to connect the glasses to the frame.
